Disclaimer
Effective: May 19, 2025 · Last Updated: May 19, 2025
This Disclaimer governs your use of the HomeEase website at athomeease.com and the services provided by HomeEase LLC ("HomeEase," "we," "us," or "our"). Please read this Disclaimer carefully before using our services.
1. HomeEase Is Not a Licensed Contractor
Important Notice
HomeEase provides basic preventative maintenance support and visual maintenance notes only. HomeEase is not a licensed HVAC contractor, plumber, electrician, or general contractor. We do not perform licensed trade work unless specifically arranged through a separately licensed and insured partner contractor.
Our services are limited to routine, non-licensed preventative maintenance tasks such as HVAC filter replacement, smoke and carbon monoxide detector battery checks, and visual maintenance observations. Any work requiring a licensed trade professional — including but not limited to HVAC repair, plumbing, electrical work, or structural repairs — is outside the scope of HomeEase services.
2. Visual Notes Are Not a Home Inspection
Any observations, notes, or reports provided by HomeEase during a visit are visual maintenance notes only and do not constitute a professional home inspection as defined under Utah Code § 58-67a-102 or any other applicable law. Our team members are not licensed home inspectors.
HomeEase visual notes should not be used for real estate transactions, insurance claims, mortgage applications, or any purpose requiring a licensed home inspection. If you need a professional home inspection, please engage a licensed home inspector.
3. No Guarantee of Outcomes
Preventative maintenance reduces the risk of certain home system failures but does not eliminate it. HomeEase does not guarantee that our services will prevent equipment failures, property damage, or other adverse outcomes. The condition of home systems and appliances depends on many factors outside our control, including age, prior maintenance history, manufacturer defects, and environmental conditions.
Sensor monitoring services (Protect Plan) are designed to provide alerts for detected conditions but may not detect all conditions or provide alerts in all circumstances. Sensor performance depends on proper installation, battery life, Wi-Fi connectivity, and other factors. HomeEase is not liable for undetected conditions or missed alerts.
4. Website Content

5. Third-Party Recommendations
HomeEase may recommend third-party contractors, service providers, or products during the course of our services. These recommendations are provided as a convenience and do not constitute an endorsement or warranty of any third party's services, qualifications, or workmanship. HomeEase is not responsible for the actions, omissions, or work quality of any third-party contractor or service provider.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Utah law, HomeEase shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of our services or website. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the total membership fees paid by you in the three (3) months preceding the claim.
